Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things
by Jenny Lawson
I stumbled across this gem and I am beyond ecstatic that the universe tossed Jenny Lawson in my way.  Full of humor and an in-depth view into how it feels to live with a mental illness.  Or several.

She's Come Undone
by Wally Lamb
I signed up for a book club at work and they passed out this book.  Unfortunately, I was involved in TWO car accidents in the same day and didn't make it to work.  Either way, this novel felt so appropriate with the #MeToo movement gaining ground.

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda
by Becky Albertalli
Simon came home with me from the library on a Friday afternoon and we did not part until the last page that evening. Snagging the movie from Redbox a month later, I was slightly disappointed in the way the story was altered.

Matilda
by Roald Dahl
In some parts, this book is almost exactly as depicted in the movie.  It was a pleasant surprise and an easy read. Miss Honey is still a breath of fresh air, if not more so, while Matilda is spunky and a tad more intelligent.

Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls, and Everything in Between
by Lauren Graham
Um. Yes.  I wish I hadn't read this so I could read it again.  I plan on reading Lauren Graham's novel as soon as I get the chance.

Wide Sargasso Sea
by Jean Rhys
If you loved Jane Eyre, this book is a must read.  It completely pushed my opinion of Mr. Rochester over the edge where, to be honest, he was teetering anyway.  I'm not typically a fan of prequels or sequels not written by the original author but Jean Rhys may have one upped Charlotte Brontë.
