Ten Reasons I Love Reading

Tuesday, June 7, 2016

The Broke and the Bookish's Weekly Top Ten Tuesday is about Ten Reasons We Love...well, anything!  Head over to check out their list and other awesome book reviews.

1. Reading allows me to forget the major stresses in my life and instantly calms me down.

2. Getting lost in a book is the best imagination exercise possible.

3. I love being a wardrobe designer, set manager, and makeup artist.  The direction is provided to me by the author but I like to think it's up to me to fill in the painting, like a color by number.

4. When I open a book, new ideas are immediately available to me and challenge the way I already think and behave.

5. Quotes.  Gosh darn quotes.  There is nothing like coming upon a quote that gives you all the feels.

6. Discussing a book with someone you just met feels incredibly personal.  It's this immediate way to share a passion and bond.  My insatiable need for reads helped me build essential relations in my new job!

7. A really good book (or a really bad one) inspires me to write and create my own world, sometimes in response to what I've just read.

8. There is a never ending stream of books I want to devour.  Some of books recommend another book within their pages.

9. I tend to use the library often because I like the idea of hundreds (probably only three) people holding the same experience in their hands so its genuinely one of the last free forms of entertainment!

10. Reading allows me to learn through others' mistakes.  I like to think I haven't veered too far off the path because my favorite characters did and they made me stronger by messing up themselves.  Or, I learned that making mistakes is an adventure worth taking.

  2. Really nice post! Reading has always been one of my fav escapes from the world. Do you write fiction as well as your blog? I find that it's a whole new feeling of immersion!!

  6. If you like set design you should totally read Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour. The M/C designs the perfect movie sets and it was my fave part of that book. Also, YAY for another Pittsburgh blogger!! I always get really excited when I find more of us :)

  10. I think I agree with every single one of these. But especially the quotations - I'm a sucker for a brilliant quotation. I sometimes think that some quotations are even better when they're removed from their context, and you can just appreciate how truly beautiful two or three lines can be all on their own. :)

  11. I love your list!!! Especially your comment about quotes. It's just lovely when an author beautifully expresses something.

  12. #10 - I have always considered Wisdom to be the ability to learn from other's mistakes. It's great when those others are fictional so fewer "real" people have to make those mistakes.

  13. Get your husband back from the other woman After Divorce or Break Up..Even If Your Situation Seems Hopeless.. I just got my husband back through the help of genuine love spell caster dr unity. My name is Emily Sarah am from Tx,USA. My husband left me for another woman, This was just 3 years of our marriage. The most painful thing is that I was pregnant with our second baby. I wanted him back. I did everything within my reach to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so badly because of the love I had for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to my friend and she suggested that I should rather contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back , I had no choice than to try it. I messaged the spell caster called dr unity, and he assured me there was no problem and that everything will be okay before 11 hours. He cast the spell and surprisingly 11 hours later my husband called me. I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that had happened He wanted me to return to him. He also said he loved me so much. I was so happy and went to him that was how we started living together happily again.thanks to dr unity . if you are here and your Lover is turning you down, or your husband moved to another woman, do not cry anymore, contact Dr.Unity for help now..
