Books To Read To Remind You Love Is Not Dead

Ahhh, love.  What is it?  Who is it?  Does it get mad if we don't celebrate it's birthday (aka Valentine's Day)?  We all chase after it like chickens with our heads cut off, but do we have any idea what we're doing?

Answer: NO.

Sometimes, it's nice to let an imaginary world tell you it's all going to work out.  It's a relief to feel that love in between the pages of a novel and not struggle after it ourselves.  Happy endings aren't always cliche.

A Town Like Alice by Nevil Shute

☆ April Book - A Town Like Alice ☆ I was given this book by a dear friend years ago and stumbled upon it in my garage and realized I'd never read it. So to break up the teaching books I've been reading I thought throwing in a fiction book would be a good idea. I really enjoyed this book not only because it gave a lot of history of my home country but because of the true story of women taken captive in the war and was able to see their courage and bravery, perseverance and determination to simply choose life while living in the midst of hell. Wow what a beautiful love story, so beautifully written. I had that feeling of both happiness and sadness when the book was done. I'm going to miss this book. Nevil Shute is a brilliant author from a generation past. Thanks Allie for giving this to me all those years ago.♡ #nevilshute #atownlikealice #renees2016readinglist
