I am super good at making Task Lists. I have a planner, a notebook, and I tear up scrap pieces of paper at work and write down every little thing I want to do and complete. Which would be awesome if I followed through 90% of the time, but I'm super great at writing it down, walking away and playing with something else that attracts my attention.
To change this, I've decided to write down some goals for October and (fingers crossed) the pressure of posting it on my blog will force me to actually get them done instead of procrastinating last minute and freaking out.
Finish my grad school application to Pitt.
I struggled my butt off through the GRE and now I'm sort of just sitting here doing squat. I plan on completing my application and sending it off by November 1st so that I can just sit back and wait for the inevitable rejection. (I'm so positive, it hurts).
Celebrate my birthday.
Yes, I know--how ridiculous to list this as a goal but I hate celebrating my birthday. I hate asking people to celebrate me. I actually deactivate my Facebook the week before my birthday and reactivate it the day after so that people don't even feel obligated to wish me a Happy Birthday. It's sort of bonkers because I love celebrating everyone else's birthday.
This year, I'm going to focus on what I should be thankful for in my 28th year - my family, my friends, my job, this blog! Of course, there is a chance I'll still act like chicken shit and deactivate social media, I can still celebrate quietly in my own little way.
Complete my 30 Day Relationship Challenge.
I really enjoy my 30 Day Challenge and got super derailed on this one. I'm gonna finish it by Halloween!!
Plan a mommy-daughter date.
I've officially been back in PA for a year now (crazy, right?!) and I haven't planned any quality time to spend with my mom. The chairman of my department even gave me gift card to a local museum and a gift certificate to a really great restaurant and I've been saving it for an evening with my mom so this month, I plan on making it happen!
Publish 12 blog posts within the month.
I have the best intentions of posting regularly. Sometimes, I let the blog go if other things are taking precedent. The problem is when I get really thrown off with my posting, I also tend to fall off the horse on other things. Blogging really keeps my entire world in check. My goal this month is 3 posts a week, 12 posts for the whole month.
Here's to a (hopefully) very successful October! :)
